Using the command team changes the controls, as the directional pad directly controls one soldier, and B is used to call out the other nearby soldier. The game is simple to learn, as the A button is used to fire at the nearest enemy, B to move to the location of the pointer and C to scroll through the soldiers. Before each battle, players can choose their team composition from four options: Assault Team, Brute Force, Commandos (a team of only two soldiers who have different controls) and Demolition. There are five types of soldiers, each with their weapon of choice and range of attack: the Gunner (machine gun, medium range and wide arc), Launcher (rocket launcher, long range), Chucker (grenades that can be thrown over barricades), Scorcher (flamethrower, close combat) and Blaster (dynamite rounds, short range). The object of the game is to push the front line to the enemy's headquarters, winning individual battles and then defeating him in his own capital. General Chaos is an arcade-style real-time strategy (RTS) game in which the player controls a team of five soldiers on a limited battlefield, in a classic all-out war between Reds (General Havoc, based in Viceria) and Blues ( General Chaos, in Moronica).
